Vaquero Clinics-Featuring Paul Dietz
CR Summit Riding Club offers two Vaquero Clinics; June and October. See Printer Friendly Current Activities List for dates.
Foundations
Paul's Foundations Clinic is basic, but not easy, this clinic develops riders from "the ground up", for those just starting, to those with experience looking for holes on the ground that are hindering their horsemanship when in the saddle. We work through different maneuvers, obstacles, and train with aids; ropes, flags, and tarps. The second portion of this clinic will deal with the fundamentals of basic riding. If your upper level riding is having trouble in areas, you can bet, like with any sport, the basic maneuvers will need some refinement. Every weak or lacking area, both with groundwork and when in the saddle, will create braces and resistance in years and on rides to come. This clinic is for any discipline or any style of riding. When you can learn to put the horses feet where you want them, there is no end to what you can do with them.
Horsemanship I
Paul's Horsemanship Clinic focuses on Vaquero principles in Horsemanship. Coming from the origins in dressage here in the United States, Paul's objective is to help each rider achieve their riding style goals and dreams. Paul will give the class maneuvers to work at so each rider can experience correct feel, timing and balance at the level they aspire to have. He works to help each rider to "get together" with their horse, to "become one" with their horse, in a quality, balanced relationship while focusing on the reoccurring theme on how horsemanship reflects lifemanship. What will help to build a foundation of both what needs to be worked on now, as well as where the riders need to be going will be pursued. This class is for any discipline or any style of riding.

Once the member student applies the basic aids to stop and turn, lessons are moved in the Large Arena allowing students to hone skills and to learn new ones, like “rising to trot”, safely. Member Students are taught basic "ground manners", "grooming" and "tacking-up" as well.
Group Lessons:
